I started out as a scientist, working on gene therapy in neuroscience and virology for a decade. Along the way, I became an inventor myself, which led me straight into the world of patents. That’s where I discovered my current passion: helping innovators protect their breakthroughs.
My career began at a Dutch IP firm, but I wanted a broader perspective. I worked in both small and large biopharma companies, gaining firsthand experience in how pharma operates. From the inside, as external counsel, and from an investor’s standpoint. I also spent time at a major law firm before returning to the role that fits me best: patent attorney at a boutique patent firm.
Since 2021, I’ve been part of AOMB as a European Patent Attorney. My expertise covers biologics, gene and cell therapy, DNA/RNA technology, antibodies, neuroscience, and cancer research. I take a direct, results-driven approach to IP strategy, guiding startups through the complex challenges of patents, due diligence, disclosure, contracts, and regulatory hurdles.
I thrive at the intersection of science, business, and law. Turning obstacles into opportunities. Whether it’s a high-stakes investment, an FTO challenge, or a complex patent strategy, I help my clients cut through the noise and make the right moves.
If you need straightforward counsel from a trusted advisor that cuts through the complexity, let’s talk.
