    A buyer-proof patent portfolio

    • Patents

A strong patent portfolio attracts buyers. A messy one scares them off. Your startup might be brilliant, but one missing patent application in a desired country can knock millions off your valuation.

If your startup dreams of being acquired by certain companies, start thinking like the buyer. Where do they file patents? If they’re active in Brazil and Uganda, but you’re only covered in Europe, you’re missing an opportunity and you’re creating a mismatch. Even if you’re not planning to sell there, they might.

Better to mirror their portfolio while you still have time. Protect what matters, where it matters. Fill the gaps now, so they don’t show up in your valuation later.

Because your IP should help close the deal, not kill it.
