Employed at AOMB since

2021

Studied Chemistry at Keio University in Yokohama (Japan). Immediately after obtaining his master's degree in chemistry, Masaoki joined the IP department of Philips in Tokyo in 2002. After working there for a few years, Masaoki decided to move to the Netherlands where he worked for Philips and DSM for a few more years and for a Dutch IP firm. Since September 2021, he is working for AOMB as a Senior European and Japanese Patent Attorney.

Masaoki has a chemistry background and extensive experience in chemistry and polymers.

What Masaoki likes about the IP profession is that he comes into contact with many companies and therefore sees all kinds of interesting technologies. Entrepreneurs can get very excited when they have made a new discovery, and when he can make them even happier by helping them with IP, it is immensely satisfying for him.

Partly because of his Japanese background, he hopes to be able to serve our Japanese client base even better and expand it.

In his free time, he loves to go bouldering and he also likes travelling a lot.
