Trademark and industrial design law, copyright and licences
Arnhem
2007
Learned about intellectual property at an early age, but only at the end of her study she consciously chose this programme. In addition, entrepreneurship has been a continuous thread in the life of Marijke Van Kan. After passing her BMM (The Benelux Association of Trademark and Design Law) exams, she set up her own trade mark agency, together with her peer and current AOMB-colleague Anne Laarman. In 2007 this agency merged with AOMB.
Marijke is very good at finding balance between legal regulations and opportunities for her clients. She thinks along at a strategic level with both national and international organisations. Advising about how to use intellectual property the right way and for the right purposes, that’s her passion.
From October 2013 to October 2015, Marijke chaired the Executive Board of Young Management VNO-NCW (employers federation) on a national level and in that capacity she was also a member of the VNO-NCW Executive Board.
Marijke is an honest, straightforward advisor and colleague. She is what you would call an open book. In her spare time she likes to do sports: not a year goes by without her going on a winter sports holiday. But also family and social life are very important to Marijke.
