Emma has worked as a trainee patent attorney at AOMB since April 2019. She was a lawyer for 15 years, the last 11 of which she spent at Houthoff in Amsterdam. Although she enjoyed the dynamics of litigation practice, she decided to go back to university. After studying Biomedical Sciences/Neurosciences, she went to Germany to carry out doctoral research in neurobiology, which she has now almost completed. Her research focused on areas including genetic engineering, signal processing, image processing and electrical engineering. Emma became fascinated with the impact that new technology has on innovation within life sciences, and decided to make that the focus of her work.

At AOMB, Emma is able to make good use of her experience as a lawyer, her professional knowledge in the field of life sciences and her affinity with technology and innovation.

Emma is proactive, hands-on and driven. She likes really being able to get her teeth into something and not let go until she has found the best solution for her client.

Emma likes travelling with her boyfriend, cooking and eating delicious food, and Amsterdam city life.
